Admission
Requirements:
1. Applicants
should have a good school record and be in good health.
2. Applicants for undergraduate programs are required to have
an education equivalent to, or higher than, that for a Chinese
senior middle school graduate; applicants for Master's degree
programs should have a Bachelor's degree; applicants for Doctoral
degree programs should have a Master's degree; applicants for
further studies are required to have undergone a two-year college
study program; and applicants for advanced further studies should
have been awarded a Master's degree.
3. Applicants for Master's or Doctoral degree programs should
present letters of recommendation from two teachers with the post
of associate professor or higher.
How
to Apply:
Return the
completed Application Form for Foreign Students to Study at BUCT
and 6 passport photos to the Foreign Affairs Office of BUCT by
mail, fax or in person. Applicants may ask for the Application
Form from the Foreign Affairs Office of BUCT in advance.
Academic
Year:
The academic
year begins in early September each year.
Entrance
Examination for Academic Courses:
1. Applicants
for a Bachelor's degree program attend classes without taking
entrance exams as students on probation. If the applicants are
able to pass all the courses they have attended in the first year,
they will be allowed to continue their study as regular students
for the remainder of the course.
2. Master's and Doctoral candidates should take 2-3 exams relevant
to their proposed fields of study.
3. Applicants for further study or advanced further study need
not take any entrance exams.
Enrollment
An Admission
Notice and a Visa Application Form for Overseas Students (Form
JW202) will be sent to each successful applicant. Overseas applicants
can apply for an X visa (for foreign students) to China at their
local Chinese Embassy or Consulate with the Admission Notice,
passport, Form JW202 and Physical Test Records (originals) . Each
student should register for the course at the Foreign Affairs
Office of BUCT bringing the originals of the above documents with
them within the specified time.
Graduation
and Completion of Studies
1. Undergraduate
students and candidates for Master's or Doctoral degrees who have
passed all examinations and satisfied all other requirements at
the end of their studies will be granted diplomas and awarded
Bachelor's, Master's or Doctoral degrees respectively in accordance
with the regulations of the PRC for conferring academic degrees.
Those who have failed the requirements will be granted certificates
of completion of studies.
2. General scholars and senior scholars who have completed their
programs will be granted certificates.
Insurance
According
to the regulations of the State Ministry of Education, applicants
without medical insurance in their own countries need accident
and injury insurance and hospitalization insurance in China (110
RMB per year).

Application Fee: RMB £¤500 per person
2. Tuition
RMB £¤33000 per academic year for Doctoral degree programs.
RMB £¤24750 per academic year for Master's degree programs.
RMB £¤18150 per academic year for Bachelor's degree programs.
RMB £¤28875 per academic year for advanced further study programs.
RMB £¤20625 per academic year for further study programs.
RMB £¤8250 for one semester (Chinese language learning).
RMB £¤7838 for the second semester.
3. Accommodation:
Standard bedroom (with two beds, TV set, telephone, air conditioner,
bathroom, washing, machine, kitchen ): RMB £¤42 per bed per day
4. Boarding Expenses
Students can eat on campus in the student dining halls, and their
monthly expenses are approx. RMB £¤500~RMB £¤800 per person on average.
